GRAND FORKS — UND and North Dakota State University have been awarded more than $800,000 in medical research funding, from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The grants were announced in a release from the office of Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., on Monday, April 11. UND’s portion of the funding total comes in at $382,717, while NDSU received $431,850.
Funding at UND will be used to study the role of immune cell activity in food allergies, and NDSU will use its grant to research a treatment for breast cancer.
